Performance without compromising comfort.
Advanced hull design and DSS technology reduce yaw and dampen pitching, creating a more composed and comfortable ride underway.
Engineered from the water up.
Hull form, structure, weight distribution and foils are resolved together, before the layout is drawn.

Hull form
Slender catamaran hulls, shaped to reduce resistance.
Structure
Carbon composite construction, with structural engineering by Pure Design & Engineering, New Zealand.
Foils
Retractable DSS foils, deployed for lift at speed and retracted when not needed.
Propulsion
Petrol, diesel and electric options, chosen around the intended use.
Deployed at speed, retracted in the shallows.
At speed, the foils extend from the hulls and generate lift. Less of each hull is in the water, resistance falls and pitching is damped. At low speed, in shallow water and alongside, the foils retract, so no drag and no increase in draft.
Lift when you need it. No drag when you don’t.

Less fuel per mile.
Weight and hull form do most of the work. In an independent performance prediction for a 50 nm airport transfer, the Powercat 60 used about half the fuel per nautical mile of a conventional 55 ft monohull. At speed, the foils reduce resistance further.

Ride engineered for comfort.
DSS foils reduce yaw and dampen pitching, improving comfort underway. By reducing motion in this way, it also addresses one of the factors that can contribute to seasickness. In tests on a superyacht, pitching was reduced by over 40%. The result is a more composed experience underway, particularly when travelling at speed and offshore.

Shallow draft. Greater freedom to explore.
With outboard engines raised and foils retracted, the shallow draft of the Powercat 48 and Powercat 60 opens lagoons and anchorages that deeper boats cannot use.

Space without compromise.
Two hulls give a wide deck and a salon on one level. The Powercat 60 has two-, three- and four-cabin layouts; the Powercat 48 has a 30 m² aft deck and a 21 m² forward lounging area.

Powercat 60
More space and four configurations: GT Coupé, GT Flybridge, Transfer and Limousine. 40+ knots in the GT Coupé.
Powercat 60The engineering stays constant. The layout, systems and finish are developed around each project.
